Landless is a body of work that engages with issues surrounding private land ownership and access to land in Ireland. The work examines the limitations placed on public access to lands, where for ninety-nine percent of the land mass in Ireland, there are no rights of access, rights to stay or rights of way beyond public roads.
The relationship between land, history and heritage is deeply embedded in Irish identity. Landless considers what it means to be excluded from the land, both physically and conceptually, and how these restrictions shape our understanding of belonging, access and ownership.
